Let’s face it, we don’t live in the 1950’s anymore. That means that more and more people find themselves staying in homes for shorter periods of time. You might find yourself in the position of having to sell your home. This might be because of a change in your work situation or simply wanting to be closer to family. You’ve likely heard that it’s a “buyer’s market.” As a result you need to do your best to make sure your manufactured home is as appealing as possible, so home buyers put an offer on your home.
We put together a list of 5 tips to help you get your home in perfect shape for viewing.
Curb Appeal | Nobody wants to buy a house that looks drab and boring. Add some curb appeal to your home by planting some lovely flowers, adding a bird feeder or bird bath, and keeping the yard trim. If you don’t enjoy gardening, consider planting shrubs or greenery, which are low maintenance, yet attractive.
Clean | We can’t say this enough! You are looking to sell your manufactured home, which means you need to put maximum effort into presenting it in the best way possible. Clean the grout in your bathrooms, change the toilet seat, wash the inside and outside of windows, and make sure any clutter is removed. Hide any pictures of your family or any mementos. The key is to allow the future family to picture themselves in your home.
Paint | Your daughter might love her hot pink bedroom, but since you’re planning on moving, be sure to paint it a neutral color. Neutral colors save the new homeowner from the hassle of having to repaint as soon as they move in and can also help you get a little more of what your asking for the house.
Decor | Keep your decor neutral. Ensure it’s warm and welcoming and projects a positive image to those viewing your home. You want them to feel relaxed and welcome. Add colorful bedspreads and fresh curtains (or at least wash your old curtains).
Carpet | Get your carpeting cleaned and make sure you place carpet protectors where high traffic might be. This will prevent those viewing your home from tracking dirt in and remind them that you take pride in your home and care for it.
Selling your home isn’t easy, but when you follow these simple tips you can rest confident that each person who visits your home will see it in the best light possible, which only increases your chance of selling.
