As soon as people approach your home, your front door one of the first things they see. It’s the entry way into your home and has the opportunity to make an amazing first impression or a less than stellar impression. When you have people over for the first time, whether it’s a new friend from church, family or your co-workers, you want to present the best image of you and your wonderful family possible. Sprucing up your front door is the best way to do this and doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Here are some tips on how to do this for every season.
Winter
Winter is probably one of the easiest seasons to decorate your front door. Although wreaths are popular during the Christmas season, they last quite a while and can often be kept on the door for a couple months before needing to be replaced. You can also try taking glitter glue and tracing snowflakes right on to the glass. When the season is over you simply peel them away and wipe with glass cleaner.
Spring
Spring promises plenty of rain, along with sunshine and warmer weather. Try creating a cute wreath from Easter eggs or plant tulips in an attractive planter and place on either side of the door for some colorful flair. Other cute ideas include hanging a bucket from your door and filling with plants to liven up the appearance or write your family’s name on a chalkboard, then create a flower boarder.
Summer
Ahhh, warm weather and lots of fun await in the summer time. A colorful flower wreath looks great on the door, as well as a planters with rich summer annuals. A cute table with cups and fresh lemonade will welcome guests to your home and keep the kids from tracking in dirt.
Fall
The beauty of fall is underestimated. Create a wreath of wood and drape with moss, which you can purchase at craft stores. The earthy tones match perfectly with the weather and it will create a warm and inviting welcome for friends and family.
